I thought the book was okay. I finished it and it was fine but I never thought of it again until the musical came out. And I gotta admit, I fucking love the musical. The original broadway cast is just *chef's kiss* perfect. The movie? Less than zero interest in it.

Cane relate. My brother loved the musical, and way back I thought Wicked the book was fun, but Oz isn't nearly my thing enough to want *more adaptations* made of it.

Then again, I feel similarly about everything relating to Alice in Wonderland, and the long-term churn of "some creative's rehash of Alice" is markedly more annoying.
