Not to get all gritty and depressing, but I do believe most people have dark fantasies they like to play around with in their head but would never want to actually happen.

Or just what is your escapist fantasy?

I like to imagine burning all possible ID from the net and real life, withdrawing all my money, and just walking away to become a nameless wanderer. No family no job no responsibilities. Just a homeless wanderer.

Thread OP, I road tripped to the Grand Canyons years ago and seeing all those rocks and trees, I dreamt of being a nomad who just wandered from one great outdoor spot to another.

One of my dark fantasies is to take a bat to the headlights of all the drivers I fucking hate on the road. I would never ever do such a thing. I'm weak and not a confrontational person. But sometimes I think, "If I knew there were no consequences and I wouldn't physically harm anyone, I would smash the headlights into pieces of that stupid Subaru that cut me off."

Does planning out how I'd try to survive in a Costco during a zombie apocalypse count?

Sometimes I imagine flying around on the back of a dragon like Daenerys and burning down the mansions of people like trump, elon musk, putin, etc. Other times I imagine targeting them by using the Death Note.

Oh, the Death Note is one of my favorites! Weirdly, I would focus less on the death and more on exposing and nerfing assholes, and basically make it impossible for them to return to society in any form (not even through their heirs). Most would die after or even during a lengthy prison sentence.

What's nerfing?

I don't know where it originated (possibly a reference to Nerf toys?), but it's a term you hear often in gaming - it means to weaken a fighter in some way. When you hear "they nerfed my favorite character!" or something of that nature, it means the character was strong before and/or possibly overpowered, and a game developer took away some of that power with the intention of balancing out the game. Perhaps the developer does this by lowering the character's stats or making it so that their special techniques do less damage.

Pretty much, the term nerf is referencing metaphorically taking a "real" gun in a game and turning it into a nerf gun i.e. much less powerful and not able to kill anything

So you're making it softer, less tough.

When people piss me off, I like to imagine doing lots of destructive things to their personal property that would leave them utterly baffled: filling their car with cow manure, unplugging their fridge on a hot summer's day just after they've left for a long vacation, using weed killer to spell out what an asshole they are on their front lawn, etc.

If I could snap my fingers and fill oil execs houses and private planes and cars with plastic garbage, and smear all their possessions and clothes and bodies with crude oil, and make fracking wastewater come out of every tap and glass and bottle that touched their lips, and sprinkle microplastic nodules over everything they ate until it crunched between their teeth, I would.

Every CEO and high level businessperson who argues that clean safe water is not a human right would range from miserably dehydrated at best to shriveled up like a mummy for the rest of forever; maybe water can turn to sand when their mouths touch it, too.

Every real estate mogul asshole and slumlord that makes millions off restricting housing would wake up tomorrow sleeping on cardboard between a dumpster and an alley wall just after the cops came through and threw out the backpack containing their IDs, last couple family photos, spare clothes, toiletries, cash, food, and prescription meds. Maybe a sentimental piece of jewelry like a wedding ring, or a family member's ashes, too. Cops that didn't quit in disgust the first time they did it would wake up there the next day.

Cops that prove ACAB would all go down to friendly fire and/or bad gun handling.

Insurance execs and politicians that argue against rationing healthcare would all wake up with stage 4 cancers but also an embarrassing itchy rash that never quite goes away.

"Climate change is a hoax" people would contract improbable tropical diseases from insects and rodents, then have their houses flood and fill with mold and then dry out in the subsequent drought and then catch fire.

"Vaccines cause autism/are poison and disease mitigation is for immune system weaklings, not me I'm strong" assholes would all get a special "only effects antivax assholes and not their children or others they come in contact with" strain of smallpox that died out as soon as they did.

Elon would get stuck in a Tesla that caught fire or drove into a lake.

Warmongering, war-profiteering rich shitheads would all go home to smoldering craters where their houses used to be and no idea what happened to their families and pets.

Politicians and CEOs that make money off appealing to and appeasing people like the above would find themselves jobless, homeless, with empty bank accounts and all out of favors to cash in, waiting in line to apply for inadequate government benefits that they reduced in the first place, with a decade+ waiting list.

I could go on, but you get the idea.

SA argue for rationing healthcare. If anyone's arguing against rationing healthcare, more power to them!
