Ironically, his reboot show just got officially cancelled today.

Which is a shame really, I thought it had really started to gel in the second season. Oh well.

Yeah, I was enjoying it, too.

But as I said in the commment section for the "Secrets you don't want to make" thread, most fans who watch "Frasier", Frasier himself is not the main draw. For the original series it was the rest of the cast (especially Niles - he and the whole Niles/Daphne thing are certainly a big reason I got hooked on the show as a teenager), and for the reboot I think it was more curiosity about what became of the characters from the original series (whether they actually showed up in the reboot or not) and how they'd honor Mahoney.

At least, that's been my experience/observation, anyway. Others may have other explanations.

That, and I don't know how many fans are even aware of his political views. I didn't know about them myself until just within recent years.

Yeah. I've never watched Frasier, but my parents really liked the original show, and when his political views have come up, that has been their response...they never watched it for him, they liked all the other characters way more.

Unlike some other conservative comedians, he is smart enough to know that nobody wants to know about his politics when they are trying to relax. He's not even that loud about them when he is not performing. Which, again, is a stark contrast with some other comics too.
