Re: Women's fashion trends that you wish would go away

Making body types/shapes/features 'trendy' because it always encourages absolutely insane level of plastic surgery to permanently change something because someone wasn't physically born with it. And it's utterly insane to me that this kind of shit just gets pushed as totally fine and okay.

You don't have a big butt? Get Implants!

Don't have large hips get implants!

Too fat? Get liposuction!

Oh btw we'll change what's 'in' next year so all that money and pain you went through is now meaningless and you're 'ugly' again. Fucking ghoulish and I wish the plastic surgery industry would fuck off, all it does(outside of medical reconstruction) is prey on people's anxieties and insecurities.

+1

when I had to visit the plastic surgery department of my health care provider for genuine medical (cancer) needs, I was shocked by how many of their clerks/secretaries and nurses had clearly had BAD plastics done on them. Huge lips, buccal fat, so on and so forth, they looked creepy and weird and I honestly questioned whether I wanted their help with my surgery. I should have gone with my gut, I now have issues that I can't afford to have fixed because it's cosmetic and not necessary.

Ohhh, buccal fat removal is such a bad trend. It doesn't come back. Those poor women's faces are going to be the wrinkly sunken place when they age.

(I'm over 50. I'm okay with aging though I'd try botox if it was cheaper, I guess. That wears off, though.)

nayrt

I'd love to get botox too. Well, only on my number 11s. I don't mind forehead wrinkles but I wish I didn't look so pissed off and confused all the time lol (even though that's probably true). And maybe one of those less aggressive chemical peels. Acne damage sucks.
