I feel the same. Harry and the Dresden Files universe has so much potential, but that potential is not fulfilled in canon, sadly. Have a fic, it's a Dresden Files/Labyrinth crossover from Ye Olde Livejournal days:

Yes! It had such a great potential and was was kind of fun. But quality of writing and a lot of themes are just pure trash.
