I feel like the current, or at least very recent-I dropped out about three years back so it might have changed, GW writers have forgotten this too. They've gone through a phase of trying very hard to make the Imperium's Nazi asthetic seem genuinely cool and make humanity the actual heroes. They've forgot it ought to be a parody.

OMG yes! It's supposed to be stupid! The Bolter is a grenade launcher that'll rip the arms off of a normal human to use. It's dumb as fuck. It's unrealistic. I love it so *much* <3
