Good on you! That’s a great way of getting yourself through a little more time when everything is just so hard.

At one of my worst points, I decided that as awful as things were, I could stick around for a few months until the next series of Lie to Me aired. I was miserable, but just curious enough to see how the new episodes turned out. That was over a decade ago and I’m still here.

Ooof, that sounds really frustrating. I seriously struggle if I don’t like the POV character. I’m not sure I could even look past it long enough to be won over by the rest of the writing.

I think this is smart and healthy. I used to use season premieres that had shows that ended on a cliffhanger. Gotta hold on to find out what happened.

I guess I’m out of the loop on a lot of this. When you say people are advocating for separating the art from the artist, what does that mean?

Are they saying art can be or should be interpreted separately from the artist’s intentions?

Are they saying people should feel free to enjoy art without dwelling on negative aspects of the artist’s life?

Are they saying negative aspects of the artist’s personal life should be totally kept out of conversations about the artist’s work?

Some combination of these? Something else entirely?

Not OP, but I've always assumed all of the above when people are talking about it. They usually specify within the conversation, but generally I see people mean all of that. The art should stand on its own and basically ignore the creator. (Not saying I agree or disagree, that's just the argument I see put forth.)
