Haha i agree with you OP. My one and only interaction with gundam wing was this one scene where one of the characters wanted to blow up his gundam with him inside of it for probable war angst reasons and then cried some more when he realised he couldn't do it whilst sitting in the cockpit. Lol. I think I've spent my whole life thinking gundam wing was all about sad boys crying.

Rotflmao. The only reason Gundam anything exists past the first ever series is because of the women fans of the show. They and their fandom and enthusiasm for the show kept it going.

Google gundam creator and women fan support.

The male fans came in later.

The creator of Gundam admits this in interviews. He also admits he created GW as a thank you and love letter to the women fans. It's supposed to be about emotional hot boys with a military sci-fi flavor.

When I was in the fandom, we all knew it was that, but we also thought the politics were important and made sense.

I'd probably still think that if I rewatched and liked it. Politics is so all over the place in real life that you could try and sell me anything as making sense and I'd believe you.

(Also I shipped a lot of Heero/Wufei and Duo/Wufei. Honestly, just give me all of the Wufei fics because boy howdy that man was the biggest repressed gay I've ever seen)
