I wouldn't say synth pop in an early Depeche Mode kind of way, more in a Lady Gaga/Marina way in that Chappell's a piano player, so her instrumentals are keyboard driven.

That said, you can tell she's from Missouri, some of her music has a real Honky Tonk quality to it.
