I think that depends on your perspective, and on what you consider "feeling rejected." I have a bajillion ideas in my head and many of them will be written without audience input.

If you have a FEAR of being rejected over a fic, that's completely understandable. But I don't think you should let that keep you from writing the story you envision, whether or not you post it.

I've recently seen a lot of expression of the idea of "why write if you're not going to post/share it?" which honestly baffles me. But maybe OP is of that school of thought - they don't write for themselves they write for 'likes' or comments so getting none is a rejection. It seems like a sad way to be creative.
