I'd buy more remakes if they could stop making shit that triggers my motion sickness. Currently holding off on FF7 because of this (like... seriously, Remake Intergrade was fine, but Rebirth is driving me insane. I'll be finishing it by the time the third game comes out at this rate).

You've probably heard this before, but have you tried messing with the settings? I don't get it with every game but some will cause crazy motion sickness and I saw someone mention messing with the depth of field, among other things, will help it.

Yes, typically in games, I try messing with motion blur and expanding FOV and if there's an option to have a marker in the middle, I take it. But right now, I've had to break away from the game because I'm tired of the sudden switch to a slower pace without a warning when I'm trying to run in the field. That's something I can't change right now. Yes, it happened at times in the first game (and even Crisis Core IIRC), but it's been constant in just the first twenty minutes of this game.

Ha, same. Honestly the Switch has been good for me in that respect in that I can play on a smaller screen. But a lot of games are just impossible to look at.

I've run into exactly one game that had a motion sickness toggle, that automatically fixed the settings. This should be standard on all games.

Ahh Stray was so good, so beautiful looking

Stray was such a beautiful game with the best cat, but it was too damn hard. I wasn't looking for a challenge, just a light dystopian kitty game.

Same. Zurks can eat a dick. I still haven't gotten past one part... I'm guessing I need to get them to chase me in a circle and then break away from them somehow, but it's such a pain in the ass and I get overwhelmed before I get anywhere.

Saaame. I got stuck in a part where I need to press a button to open a door, run through the dumb zurks that mob me and somehow make it to the other end and out the door before the timer runs out. I die every single time and just said fuck it.

(Anonymous) 2025-02-17 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not that hard. You've got to be really, really bad at video games to have had trouble with that one.

(Anonymous) 2025-02-17 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, sit down and shut up. You've never played it. And if you have, you're lying if you're claiming it isn't any kind of challenge.

Stray was so much fun! There's another one called Little Kitty, Big City that's good too.

Little Kitty, Big City is the game I wished Stray had been. Both are so good but LKBC is just more my vibe.
