I'm not one for marking a film's quality by how much money it made, hopefully those who went to see it had a good time, that matters more than raking in money and I've never understood anyone trying to make a pissing contest out of how much a movie makes. Some of the worst fucking movies that exist made shit tons of money.

I agree, but whether or not a film breaks even or makes money as opposed to losing money makes a big difference in whether a sequel will be greenlit. It can also make a big difference in how much of a role the leading character will be given in team-up projects going forward in a comic book franchise like Marvel.
