James Patterson, "The Secret Lives of Booksellers and Librarians". I was a bookseller for a very long time - and there were downsides as well as inspiring stuff. Funny anecdotes as well as, hmm, inspiring stuff. Authors who drove us up the wall as well as really nice authors. Publishers' rep who just plain drove us up the wall. Got bored 3/4 of the way through and took it back to the library. Like, James Herriot told us about the downsides of being a vet as well as the nice bits?

It was a bit like reading a book about childcare that says it's all sunshine and rainbows.
