We had captions on, so we could still follow some of the details. Likewise, there are plenty of visuals (such as first down lines) that give you a sense of what teams need to do at various points. It probably helps that I am a bit of a fan of American football as a whole, so I can get a lot of entertainment value even when I have no sound for a game. And if all else fails, the camera ops crew tends to shine at Super Bowl games, capturing really funny details on the sidelines.
