On mystery novels, [description of all the danger that is going on], will [main character] make it out alive?

Duh, yes, of course the main character that reader should care about is not going to be killed off. Unless the writer wants to piss off a good portion of their readership for shock value, in which case they also shouldn't have that in the blurb.
