We spent 4 seasons with the characters and then had that essentially erased when they added Dawn. The Wishverse would have been less complicated.

Interesting take. I definitely feel the reverse.

Adding Dawn was a bit throwing, but they kind of hand-waved themselves into “everything’s still more or less the same, she was just vaguely there in some way”. A proper alternate universe seems like a different level of deviation.

And in any case, that was a permanent change. It’s not like Dawn was around for a season, injected into everyone’s memories, and then disappeared and everyone was reset to their original state.
