Wow, those are truly some terrible covers, and I'm someone who used to enjoy the Good Show Sir site. Either the artist wasn't told what books they were actually illustrating, or these are clip art or AI.

The colors are an eyesore, IMO. It wouldn't be too out of place for a modern AU or... some other YA story, but it's such a mismatch for Jane Austen that I can't imagine why anyone would look at it and go, "Yeah!"

Publishers really out here trying to say that yes, you can judge a book by its cover, if that judgment leads to someone buying it. Who cares if they regret it later and feel duped because they never wanted to read it, as long as you get that money.

I kinda dream of this sometimes. My wife can work while I take a break when my disabilities keep me from being able to work, and vice versa, we are both chronically ill which has pros and cons in a relationship, but I think it would be lovely if we didn't have to worry about money at all or if one of us could just relax, take care of home chores, and enjoy hobbies while focusing on health. Normally, both of us have to work to afford expenses anyway. I both dream of being the one who can be a housewife and the one who can provide for my partner, they're both fantasies. I shouldn't complain, what I have is pretty good, just sounds nice to not have to worry about it, you know?
