I’m sort of grieving my parents’ pet, a beagle I lived with enough to love, but she’s been in bad health for so long it’s kind of a relief and it’s more that I’m concerned about my parents who are also not in the best of health. So I will be dealing with a lot of feelings by lighting candles and cleaning and trying not to doom-scroll.

I'm sorry for you loss. And I get how stressful it is to deal with your parent's health. My Dad lives far away and I always freak out when he doesn't answer his messages.
