he doesn't love nor does he respect DW. The way he reacted, the way he spoke to the press made me dislike him even more than his terrible accent. I dislike Eccleston because his hate for DW too. Can't all those actors at least pretend to like their movies, is it that hard to act?

I think Eccleston really did throw himself into it at first. Seemed properly committed, even when people weren’t sure how the renewal was going to go. He just seemed to have such a bad time under that production that I get his animosity.

I don’t know if it’s similar with Gatwa. Maybe he got it especially bad from the fans? I don’t really keep up with it.

I think Ecclestone is etilist and thinks TV's beneath him. He just like serious roles in theatre. Gatwa had a good time, really liked the queer aspects and the skirt. He changed his tune after the flop because he doesn't want for it to spoil his career.

That may be true, but Eccleston also got some creepy stuff happening around him while on the show. He really did not like John Barrowman's actions, Barrowman would not take no for an answer, and the showrunners/staff allowed it to happen. So he did not have a good time and his dislike is understandable.

If that's true he's a phenomenal actor and consummate professional because Ecclestone was fantastic as the Doctor. Having his experience as the Doctor soured by Barrowman is not his fault. Barrowman is an asshole.

I don't think he doesn't respect Who. I think he's gotten really nasty, racist stuff from the worst parts of the fandom and that's colored how he views the fandom.

Considering Eccleston and Billie seem genuinely thrilled to be returning to do some Big Finish recordings, I think his attitude was genuinely more towards production happening around him and Barrowman than the franchise itself.
