IMO fs isn't really participation in a fandom? I mean, if I reply to fandomsecrets about something I kinda like but don't read or post to any comms for, I don't consider myself to be in that fandom. I only think of myself as being in a fandom if I join in with its community in some respect. So yeah, I can get why this person doesn't think of herself as being in fandom. *shrug*

I enjoy plenty of things that have active fandoms, but I'm not in any of them. Fandom itself is my fandom, because I love to read wank and troll. :D

I only read them when I remember they exist (so, not very often), and this is the only one I've ever submitted, so, yes, I am.
