how does that dress stay on???

Dresses like that exist. For curvier or bustier women, it’s common to put strips of silicone or rubber in strategic places. It’s usually done while sewing the dress but they can be added after. Ime, the after market ones aren’t as good unless you sew them in; they’re made to just stick in after putting the dress on and the strips will cling to you and dress will cling to the strips.

Good construction and fitting, and good tape and/or boning. But you can also see in many red carpet events where it hasn't been constructed or fitted correctly and it's sagging dangerously low or has squashed everything horribly.

this image has some gorgeous linework and I may have to save it just to look at it and appreciate it , and maybe even pick apart it's components because looking at it just gives me so much satisfaction as an artist, Mnnnf
