I felt a genuine sense of betrayal when I learned that the words "posh" and "tip" absolutely do not come from acronyms. Kid-me knew that books simplified things and teachers were sometimes just wrong. But this was a book about succeeding through knowledge. I didn't expect it to have such blatant bullshit.

I have been obsessed with this series of books and films these last days. I believe it is the absolute best science fiction that has ever been made, and required reading and viewing for anyone wanting to write seriously for the genre.

I know "where is my jetpack" is a meme by now, and that the Cold War continued in this series, while showing human folly while dealing with technology.

But it makes me sad this does feel like the future we should have had.

It was written so believably well, and our world so terribly written and chaotic and hopeless and run by morons at the highest levels, sometimes I feel like the Odyssey series is humanity's canon timeline.

Am I REALLY willing to have this fight? Am I really going to point out that this would be an X23 movie, not a wolverine movie? Or a "Talon" movie if you want to be pedantic right back to me?

Maybe I can have my cake and eat it too by expressing the idea that a character who's whole story is about trying NOT to follow in Logans footsteps taking over logans name was a stupid fanfic quality idea merged with a standard soulless marketing team idea, but phrasing it like I'm simply thinking out loud, and then just not engaging with any of the people who show up to fight me?

That could work...

But she DOES deserve her own movie. I'd watch that.

I'm not the biggest fan of either movie, but there really isn't any overlap between them besides incorporating Dorothy, I think.
