I’m well aware they absolutely do.

So that’s not how I usually communicate. It’s shitty to just dump snark and disdain into a conversation.

There’s a time and a place for that: for example, commiserating with someone about a shared complaint. As is happening right here.

I don't think it's about humor so much as signalling shared knowledge and enjoyment of a thing.
