Oh big same. And not un a judgement way, I am just so endlessly curious about other people's opinions and ways of thinking.

Same!! It's so fun and fascinating seeing how people got to certain conclusions and chatting about their perception of a character/show/trope/etc.

Same for me. It's really interesting to see things from another perspective and then compare it to my own.

Ha, great image choice, OP!

Same. I've seen weird takes that genuinely make me wonder if we consumed the same piece of media in the "How did you get THAT out of that?" way.

Same! Discussion is just so fascinating.

If you are the anon I think you are, I don't answer because you come across as just wanting a fight and to demand you be acknowledged as RIGHT all the time.

OP

(Anonymous) 2025-03-18 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
...I don't think I am?

I very rarely put forward a thought without couching it in lots of "I think"s and "in my opinion"s, and I don't think I've ever had an argument here.

If I have an annoying commenting habit, it's probably asking people for examples when I'm not sure I understand what they're talking about.

Shit, is that actually really annoying?

Does asking for illustrative examples make it seem like I'm looking for a fight?

I try to project non-confrontational vibes, but tone in written comments can be so hard.

DA - no, you are fine. Other anon is just starting from negative assumptions with zero evidence. I've noticed this happen a few times, an anon reply to a secret saying along the lines of "If you're the anon I think you are, you are wrong/rude/etc" and it always seems so random to me.

As someone who also struggles to understand sometimes, anny suggestions on how to show good faith while asking for a little more clarity?

There is no way to please people like ayrt. Just ask you questions in a kind and open way and people who reply with negativity are just jerks.
