Longer answer: I'm guessing the fake agency will try, not the official government. Erasing history isn't anything new, infuriating as it is. The point isn't to make things safe for MAGA snowflakes (though it is "owning the libs" so I guess it'll give those idiots comfort somehow) but to cause chaos until everyone's too tired to fight back and they have full control.
