Wait, didn't the country "turn a corner" when Obama was elected. Twice? So what, did they turn BACK? Is their relation to this corner dependant on whether you get the result you want?

If you want to know what I think is the coincidence about how Trump was beaten, you're going to have to sit through a physics lecture discussing the possibility of 20mill people shifting between parallel universes. THAT shit is a coincidence that will knock your socks off. But we really don't need to get into that.

Also Anger? WHERE? You picking up anger? I am, at worst, tired. And disbelief? I expressed no disbelief. I was talking about YOUR disbelief. See I BELEIVE. I believe that if the dems hadn't fucked Tulsi in 2020, and she'd be 2 months into her second term right now. I can accept the possibility of a woman of colour leading the USA. I can even accept the possibility of a woman being elected after backstabbing the last guy who she'd been propping up despite his clear dementia for 3 years, and then running a 100 day campaign. I just don't think there's any universe out there where "She's so brat" and "White men for Kamala" was going to be enough. The DNC can afford better astroturf than that.

Of course we didn't fucking turn a corner. In 2008, George W. Bush was so unpopular that any Democrat would have won. And when Obama did, in a landslide, we all patted ourselves on the back and read articles about how America had finally become a post-racial society. But while the devil works hard, Fox News and the Kochs and a shitload of others worked even harder to astroturf the Tea Party, which led to a dumbing down of the Republican Party. The Republican abandoned moderates for good after Romney lost to Obama in 2012.

Biden won in 2020 because we had nothing else to do but vote, so we voted in record numbers. Trump would have won if people weren't so tired of the pandemic and his base wasn't dying in record numbers.

That got a genuine belly laugh from me. She was never, ever, ever a viable candidate. She was a Russian asset. And if not even my Russia Today-infected father considered voting for Gabbard, she had no shot.
