If you're determined to feel that way you can feel that way about anything. I used to beat myself up that most of my nonwhite crushes were Asian men and not Black and brown men. Then I thought Winston Duke and Michael B. Jordan were hot in Black Panther, but then I stopped myself like, "wait, how do I know I'm engaging respectfully and not in a jungle fever way?" And, "if I actually cared about these Black men, wouldn't they have been on my radar before they were in MCU slop?"

Ultimately, thought crimes are not actually a thing. Just be respectful in real life.

Aw, I think Mena is a good-looking guy. I do, however, have all of the hearteyes for Marwan Kenzari, and comparison was always going to be the thief of joy in this case (even if I also think Mena suited his role as Aladdin better than Marwan suited Jafar).

I’d guess it’s just that they’re trying to revitalize the MCU.

RDJ is still pretty popular among fans, his charisma was a big part of the MCU at its height, and bringing him back in a villain role got people talking (positively) about the franchise again.

Huh. Okay, I'm apparently even more out of the loop than I thought and the people I know are as well, because among us, the main reaction to this casting decision was "wait, wtf, what, why?"

It's just that Truck-kun is also the killer of side characters and fridger of LIs without isekai being a part of it - a general death plot device. So that would be kinda darker.
