(No, this isn't Internet Explorer, trying to catch up on the 25-hour speech he held a few days back.)

I was watching his Town Hall in New Jersey and he was very engaged with his constituents.

Unlike some other asshole senators who send boxes of donuts to town halls and then mock the reactions of their constituents on the interwebs.

I'm just playing around anon, don't take it too seriously.

He's not my guy, but if you're happy I'm happy.

And I don't really put much weight in the closet case theory. I don't outright dismiss it, it's politics anything's possible, but I'm not really sold on it.

Yeah, apparently so. And yes, it's got vibes of that Brooklyn 99 gag where the union guy tries to blackmail Holt with the threat of outing him. But again it's politics so maybe he's on the DL? Who knows. I can see it costing him some of his black voters so maybe he'd just stay quiet? Or maybe he's holding onto it like a pocket ace in case he ever needs to pull a Spacey? Or maybe it's just politics and an opponent put the rumour out? Idk, it's all some hwere on the spectrum of plausible.

unlikely. two reps from my state - Baldwin and Pocan - are openly gay and always have been for literal decades. if you've got a D you're not helped by staying closeted, very much the opposite.

now if he was R that's different, ask Ladybug Lindsay Graham.

I had a nightmare last night. A full on, woke up in tears, nightmare. That the escalation of Ukraine had actually gone nuclear. That the missiles were flying and the nukes were detonating.

I think it is time to fold and let Putin have this one. I don't want to die for Ukraine. I think Ukrainian refugees should be given a rifle and a bag of rounds, then sent home. If they want to continue the fight then they can do so on their own life.

Ukraine is holding the line. Folding is not an option. Putin loses or else Europe is next. A destroyer is never satisfied.

Europe is not next. Even at its height, the USSR couldn't hold most of Europe. Furthest they got was Poland and Czechia. And even Czechia was super loose in their grip. Russia is nowhere near as strong as the USSR. Western Europe has nothing to fear, nor does most of central europe. Even the Balkans don't really need to be worried.
