Yes! And I laughed but it’s true, a cartoon wouldn’t have been as silly and would have been more educational. I still don’t understand why they didn’t at least stick to one era within episodes. That provides context that bolsters learning.

The earlier American series did. It wasn't anything like as funny or as beloved. I remember one episode in which two white American kids went back in time and saved a Brown Egyptian Pharaoh from his evil darker Brown chief counsellor. Didn't watch any more after that.

Do you mean fandom or do you mean pop culture?

Pop culture for me is “Mikey likes it.” And then the 80s were full of them from commercials (I still say where’s the beef?), TV shows (works for me from Hunter is another I still say even though no one knows why anymore), and movies (I’ll be back.

But for fandom I think probably the only catchphrase I’ve encountered in a fandom I’m actually in would be “it’s never lupus” from House. It became a whole thing in the fandom for a bit and was its own fic trope.

I'm not sure what my first TV show catchphrase was, probably 'I would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddling kids!'.

My first fandom catchphrase was 'The truth is out there.' - seriously, so many fics had the phrase somewhere in there, fandom pages had it in the banner, people would reply to comments with it, etc. After a while, I was thrilled when some people started using 'Apology is policy.' just because it wasn't so ubiquitous. That one never got quite as big, I don't think.

Same. I wanted to like this game. I tried really hard to give it a chance, and I actually did like the characters I met. But at the end of the day I just kept forgetting to play because it was not engaging at all. It's been months now since I even thought about it.

Which sucks because I have been invested in the DA world. I enjoyed all the previous games but I fell hard for Inquisition and I was really looking forward to this one and all the characters.

IF you wanted to elect a new president, and you were aiming for unity, for the centrist option, the straight down the middle "no party will be happy, but none of them will be pissing blood" option... Say we were to envision a whole new 3rd party to represent the middle... Who would you want as Pres and VP?

Or if you find yourself in the extremes, thinking that any attempt at a unity is inherently a backwards step, who is the most centrist / least extreme option you'd consider as purely cynical tactic to grab votes. I suppose what I mean is what is most "for the optics of unity only" option you'd be willing to consider?

TL;DR, whatever you think of unity, how would YOU approach it?
