I'm not ACTUALLY a contributing member of this fandom, or any fandom at the moment for that matter. I was as a teenager and it brought nothing but butthurt internet drama and wank, but I sure do read skins fic, and from an objective, "outsider's" eye, I'll say this -- The writer of Translatlanticism was clearly fishing for attention at every turn, but happened to be intelligent enough to mask it from the cronies. She would constantly have all these lamentations about being a BNF and all the drama that entailed, but she LOVED that shit. I agree with everyone that says she fostered the wank.

Her writing was pretty good, though. I mean, she definitely had a writing style that was an acquired taste, and SOMETIMES her character POVs weren't all that great because she got caught up in using her own "voice" instead of the voice of the characters, but it was definitely more seasoned than half the stuff skins femslash writers churn out (except for one in particular, who is consistently the best writer in every fandom she writes in, and is probably too good for fandom in general. That's just the truth, I have no allegiances to any of these guys, I just call it like I see it).

Long anon comment is long and all, but I had to contribute just this once. I want to know why the aforementioned writers are no longer interweb buds! Evidence or it didn't happen.
