I really liked Euphemia, and I hoped she wouldn't die, but that idea was really naive. Being allowed a small piece of your own land by the very people who've occupied the rest of it must have seemed very patronising to the Japanese. And how would the economy have worked? How would they have been fed?

In the end it probably would have led to an even stronger resistance movement developing in that area, as anger and pride would keep rising, and another war would have probably taken place.

The way she died was really random, but at the same time a good example of how easy things can go wrong for the strangest reasons. I didn't actually mind it once I'd got over the surprise.

It's funny though, how it's shown that it's actually Suzaku and Euphemia's way of doing things that works best in the end - changing the empire from the inside really was the only thing that worked. It just took Lelouch's way of doing things to get enough power to do so!
