Days! I don't watch it anymore, but in high school I made my mom tape it for me. I was totally addicted. Hey, do you remember when Stefano kidnapped Marlena and was holding her in a cage in the Paris underground? And the only one who could find her was Kristen because of the "Queen of the Night" game that Stefano played with her when she was a kid? Oh man, and when I think of how long I waited for it to come out that Lucas is Will's father, not Austin...

I beat you anon. I watched for 23 years, from when I was 8 until I was 31. I walked away for anime and fandom; I regret nothing.

For awhile DOOL was crazy...really fucking crazy...and it was great watching the batshit everyday but then the storylines kept looping and looping and once they killed off half the town, brought them back, then never resolved everything, I was done. Anime had swords, more blood, and prettier men so I dove right in.

I'm not ashamed that I watched. I'm fascinated that I watched for that long, but my grandmother watched it (from the first show), my mom watches it (still does) and so it was always on. She still tries to "catch me up" when I'm over and I laugh about it.

When I was in high school the local NBC station ran Days at 9am, so no matter what other soaps you watched everyone watched Days. And if anyone had been at home sick and then came back to school, everyone asked them what happened on Days.

It's a great show! Be happy it has good ratings, as it's the only thing left on NBC Daytime.

I hate most soap operas yet I watched DOOL from when I was ten all the way through college and a few years beyond that. It was just so over the top ridiculous and fun. I still think Carrie decking Sami on her would be wedding day to Austin was one of the most satisfying moments of TV ever.
