Nor is saying it IS a bug because someone really hates it. That's the point. Just because a genre has a common trope that you dislike doesn't mean the whole genre sucks. It just means it's not for you.

(Anonymous) 2025-05-10 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)Now, you may say your whole point is that whether someone likes a piece has nothing to do with whether it's good or bad. But if writing quality is highly subjective most of the time; and if finding fault in the writing style of a genre just means that it's "not for you," then there's really nothing left to judge it by. In the end, it comes down purely to "did you like it or not?"
