The only awards lists I ever bother with are the ones for films and books. Books-wise I find they are still okay (though I stay away from the best seller lists nowadays because I have zero interest in trashy beach reads), but I no longer pay attention to the Oscars since I have disagreed with their Best Picture choice for the last couple of years.

Look at BAFTAs, and if this is too British for your taste, WGA isn’t bad either. I’m not going to say I agree with their decisions all the time, but overall I find their selection of nominees better.
