Yeah, Colin Morgan is definitely one of those actors who got better with age (and a beard). Though the atrocious styling in Merlin certainly didn't help him. In Merlin, he's just in that bracket of awkward nerd loser to kinda cute nerd that is highly subjective depending on the viewer.

Nah. I watched it and ... I guess I liked it well enough? Definitely expected it to be worse than it was but also wasn't blown away.
But I also never saw the show live and only knew the usual recording where I liked a few songs well enoug so I never had any strong feelings about it to start with.

Yeah, fashions of the 00s and early 10s have aged about as well as fashions of the seventies have. Especially hairstyles.

I think the styling was off even when it aired, really. The whole thing looked just so... weirdly cartoonish?

nayrt but I agree. I was put off by the combination of too-modern looking hairstyles combined with the historical(ish) looking wardrobe. I felt the same way about the BBC Robin Hood, where the titular character had this terrible Justin Bieber-like 'do that honestly looked like a bad comb-over.

I didn't watch much of the cartoon, but her in-game design was more uncanny valley and "like an ugly human" than the show IMO. The design pictured there has more personality at least.
