I just stumbled on a discussion on reddit where people were talking about the "culture and rules/etiquette of fandom" and how they've changed over the years. What was interesting about it was that the apparent drama in the argument came from younger fans saying fandom doesn't have a culture or rules and that it is somehow rude? insulting? idek to try and say it does and try to "police" what fans can do. Part of the whole thing was talking about fandom etiquette and part of that was what stays within fandom and how to talk to the creators and actors etc.
