Honestly there's never been a doctor where I blanket-love ALL the episodes. The writing has always been inconsistent to me in the sense that while I enjoyed 90% of the episodes (and I don't generally hate the remaining 10%), it doesn't ruin my love for the show as a whole.

Hard disagree. Moffat's era was the best of modern Who, 11 and 12 had great stories. And I'm really loving the current era too.

Honestly? I’m really enjoying Who again after an extended period of disliking the show’s direction and tone.

But you’re not wrong. The ratings are at their lowest for Nu Who and the Beeb had to contract with Disney to keep making the show. Under that deal, it doesn’t matter what happens in canon because the show is secured for years.

Also what are you even talking about the Capaldi seasons are the best ones in modern Doctor Who. Heaven Sent is like top episode of all time imo.

I feel ya op. My (small niche) fandom has an argument over which flavour of neurodivergent a person is and like… he’s just a bit shy and hates having his picture taken. Sigh. He’s really hot though so I have to follow them for my own shallow shallow reasons.

Agreed. Fandom ridiculousness is meant to stay in fandom, not breach containment.

Also personally I can't stand it when fans bother the actors over ships, as if we need their input or permission to ship something. No thanks I'll do what I want in my corner without the 'approval' of those working on it. Plus I've never understood asking the actors things like that when they don't write the show/movie, even if they're for a ship it doesn't mean it'll happen. I miss the 4th wall.
