The mistake my family still brings up (with affection) is the time I tried to make crêpes and forgot the eggs.

It’s a recipe I had made dozens of times and I couldn’t understand why they weren’t holding together. I kept getting more and more frustrated over the course of 30 min. Eventually someone suggested it looked a bit pale and I realized I was trying to cook a “batter” of milk and flour.

More recently, after a long bad day, I dropped a full bowl of pesto pasta onto the kitchen floor. It shattered and I was so pissed off and tired, I couldn’t make myself clean it properly or cook something else. I just swept it into a pile and got into bed with a dinner of crackers and cheese.
