I am really hoping the author is just very young. But it was so weird to see it pop up on AO3 while I was scrolling looking for Witcher fic. Not exactly the place for pro-life essays!

Also, now thinking about the topic this maybe should have gone in the politics thread. I was thinking more "what a weird thing to see in fandom."

Honestly not entirely surprised. I've seen weird things on AO3 that are only tangentally related to fandom. And a lot of not at all fic.

If it's a political topic that involves a fic or fandom situation, general comments is fine IMO, political topics do come up in fandom and a lot of people use their fanworks as a soapbox.

AFAIK AO3 has always allowed meta works.
