Re: Favorite soundtracks

Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit soundtracks are both wonderful but they were done by the same composer so that's not surprising.

Kinda meh on the movie itself but The Last Samurai soundtrack is amazing.

The How to Train Your Dragon movies are very good as well.

And this one isn't an overall cohesive theme, but ff14(the MMO video game) has some absolutely spectacular themes and boss-fight music across the expansions. Like there's very few bits of music in the game I think are boring, a few are more generic fantasy BG music but most of the boss-fight themes are fucking amazing and theres so much variety in the types of music they do as well. Like this expansion features a boss with dirty synth as it's theme and I'm not kidding.

And Neir Automata has a lovely soundtrack, I listen to that one all the time.

I adore the How to Train Your Dragon soundtracks. So So good. Pretty fond of LOTR ones too. And I like parts of the Hobbit ones a lot.

Also, I totally get not liking a movie but thinking the music is great. That is me with the Great Wall movie. Stupid, not good movie. But the music is lovely.

The LoTR/Hobbit soundtracks have been my faves for a long time because of what Howard Shore does with the scoring across the films, that and they're some of my faves bits of music to do work to as I can just let the music flow through me while I do stuff.

I can't say I remember the music in the Great Wall but then I was very distracted by laughing at it, I might have to go check out a few bits of music because even bad movies can have really stand-out music. See: Twilight and, of all things, the first 50 Shades movie(don't like the movie but Love me Like you do is a fucking banger).
