I can't speak for anyone else, but for me it's her autism "activism".

I looked up chelation and just...wow. People would subject their kids to that but deny them the protection of vaccines? It's completely sick.

Okay, all of what is being said here is making her sound really crazy but I doubt that anyone commenting here is a scientist. IMO and from what I've heard, over vaccinating IS risky for other reasons. Now maybe my information is wrong...but yours is too. This sounds like a bunch of people getting upset about something they don't really know much about.

The fact that her 'activism' seems to have directly led to lowered immunisation rates which has led to actual DEATHS of diseases that are supposed to be, you know, preventable, supporting chelation, which has absolutely NO scientific basis for 'curing' Autism, the fact that before her kid was (possibly mis)diagnosed with Autism, she was claiming he was a 'crystal child' or whatever, her claim that vaccines STOLE HER CHILD'S SOUL ("The nurse gave (Evan) the shot... and soon thereafter - boom — the soul's gone from his eyes."), because, you know, claiming that autistic kids don't have souls is REALLY going to stop people mistreating them...

She's just a horrible, horrible woman.

Yeah - the quote above is from... I think an appearance on Oprah. Something big and widely-watched. And there was NO input from anyone remotely attached to the medical or scientific professions to refute her 'evidence' that vaccinations stole her child's soul and replaced it with an AUTISTIC OH NOES and that he was then cured by chelation and a special diet. What the FUCK?

I agree, based solely on her idiocy towards autism and all the morons who listen to her just because she's "famous." She continues to perpetuate all these lies about it, which only makes those of us on the spectrum continue to be marginalised and shunned rather than accepted for who we are.
