You have just provided me with the solution to an ages old confusion. Thank you.

There are 'super-deformed' dolls on Subeta that are just like, a little big-headed and definitely a chibified version of the pet where the actual chibi version of the pets is, well 'chibi', and I never understood why the dolls had a different name, or what about them was deformed.

Ughhhh yeah I HATE modern LPS. I miss the g1 style.

I additionally hate that Ty apparently looked at them and said "yes, this is the style we're going to make mass-market plush toys of" and now it's FUCKING EVERYWHERE

I miss Beanie Babies and their small beady eyes that aren't 50% of their heads

I was going to say, am I dumb or am I remembering commercials from the 80s where "littlest pet shop, that's who!" were little plastic actual animal-looking animals? or were they plush, but at least still looked like animals? I expect that's what you mean by g1, just like My Little Ponies (speaking of horrifically deformed).

The angle of the newer LPS eyes makes them look like they have Down's Syndrome.

And I don't mean that insultingly, it's like... an observation.

I like them... I grew up with the originals but they were just realistic animal toys. The new ones have character. Nice variety of animals too.

Thank you for making my secret, Secret Maker!

To anyone confused, LPS used to look like this in the 1990s:

https://www.toysisters.com/toy-guides/littlest-pet-shop/g1-littlest-pet-shop/vintage-littlest-pet-shop-by-year-by-set/

The eyes were cartoony and with eyelashes, but closer to normal size and in comparison with the rest of the body. Some poses were rather human-like, but all in all these looked like normal animals. (I have no idea what happened in 1996 with the mer-creatures though??)

But nowadays they are, you know, those huge-headed creatures pictured in the secret.
