Piercings

In your humble opinion, what is the most attractive and least attractive body piercings?

Does it change for yourself vs on others?

It really depends on the person for me. Some people look really great with a lip or tongue piercing, for example, and others it just doesn't work for. But I do generally find nipple piercings really cool.

One I generally do not like is large gauge nostril piercings. Especially if they have the ring/hole type of thing in. Freaks me out to look at it for some reason. Possibly related to my trypophobia?

I'm guessing it has something to do with facial symmetry? Adding things to one side or the other might improve it in some people and make it worse in others. Whereas wearing two of the same regular old earlobe earrings on either side of the face is neutral

It honestly depends on the person. Some people can really pull off a lot of piercings. I will say, I get OP because nose piercings like that look physically painful to me.

I can't get piercings for medical reasons, which is fine by me. I don't find them particularly attractive on others, either. At best, my feelings range from neutral (ear piercings, lip piercings, a discreet nose piercing) to "ick" (septum piercings, nipple piercings, genital piercings) and all the way to "hell no" for those saggy earlobe plugs.

I think ear gauging is unattractive. Making holes in your lobes that I can see daylight through- or even seeing two streets away through!- is gross and can actually have terrible consequences for the gauged person.

I don't want piercings. If my parents had asked me about getting my ears pierced (which they couldn't have, as it's customary in my country to pierce girls' ears at birth), I might have declined. But I have those, and my earlobes get red and hot and complain at me when I try to use earrings any bigger or heavier than studs, and I've never been tempted to get others.

I've appreciated the way other people look with piercings in other parts of their ears, on their eyebrows, and on their lower lip. And Indian women with the little nose-post never bothered me, even as a little kid who found noses gross in general. (Don't know why they seemed okay.)

Ear gauging, septum piercing, whatever you call that piercing across the bridge of the nose at eye level, and whatever the square piercing between neck vertebrae is - those really seem ugly to me. Although the last one might have bad associations from how insecure and try-hard the person I know who got it was? I'm not sure. If the Western body mod community ever gets around to trying to appropriate lower lip gauging from that same tribe in Africa that's famous for the stretched earlobes, I suspect that would look more like body-disfigurement than body modification to me, too.

I don't find any piercings unattractive tbh, it's all dependant on how the person wears them. I might find some more surprising on a first glance, like a lot of facial per icings, but if the person with them is happy and confident they'll look good even if I wouldn't get those piercings myself.

I have three piercings in each ear, I used to have a helix in each as well but they never healed correctly so I had to take them out and let them close. Which still makes me sad years later, I loved how they looked.
