If you’re gonna go that route, lots of jewelry can mess you up. Even rings aren’t safe.

I was gonna say, I don't wear rings because I saw a picture of someone's finger after they got their wedding ring caught on something, even though it's about twenty years since I saw it...

DA, but it doesn't happen to me with other jewelry. Just the kind where I'm literally looking at a stretched hole in the other person's body.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have it. But, as someone who used to remove all grabbable bits as a matter of course for a grappling-based martial art, my brain is insistently going "even if they take out the gauge the weakness remains!" in a way that does not happen with rings, necklaces, etc.

Oh absolutely, I don't wear jewellery beyond studs at all thanks to habits forned by my job. But with the hoopy things and septum piercings, that's just a series of really strong intrusive thoughts more than any reasonable or rational response!
