Where should I go?

Super random, but I just learned I'll have the last week of July off from work and I want to go somewhere fun. I'm on the east coast USA and will have 7 days to go solo somewhere. I am looking at Iceland and maybe renting a car and doing a lot of hiking, but idk. Any suggestions? I'm open to anywhere that's not crazy expensive or takes forever to get to.

Huh... isn't Iceland crazy expensive already?

Not too crazy. Right now it's one of the cheapest tickets to fly there by a large margin, which is why I was looking at it.

Ah, I meant overall. Lodging, food, travel expenses. Last I heard it cost a lot due to it being an island and all, but I haven't checked hard numbers or anything.

Eh, from my research it isn't too bad. Or at least compared to other popular places I was looking at. Everywhere is expensive :(

Iceland is insanely expensive. Like $10 for a banana expensive. The airfare is cheap but everything else costs about 10-15 times as much as anywhere else. Your best option for traveling there is booking an all inclusive through a travel agent.

What kind of things do you want to do on this trip? If you're willing to/able to fly that far, then you've got a lot of options.
