oh, I like leaving them because anyone who clicks on the fic to read the 25+ comments will see the one unhinged one out there in the wild, especially on fics that have been up more than 15 years. like lol sure I'm going to revisit this fandom 15 years later and rewrite a whole ass story for your weird headcanon, except no I'm not.

but maybe I'd feel differently if I got those comments often. only a couple over the years, not several every few months or anything.

Oh on one fic I had a regular commenter on this ffnet fic (which I wrote with my partner, then just a friend) who left these long reviews (that took a bit of work to parse , we think they were ESL or just a kid or something) that included scene ideas they would ask us to include that always bashed and demonized a character they hated.

It was just really irritating esp bc character bashing is one of my big pet peeves. THE thing i detest in fanfics. Like hell I was gonna write it. (also reading his one fic he was really uh misogynistic about his hatred of the character.. which EW)

yikes! yeah that's absolutely uncool, kudos to you for being able to just ignore it. I'm with you, if that was AO3 that's a surefire delete.
