Pfft, it's how my friends and myself have interacted with each other for years. And have you ever watched Robot Chicken? One can get very famous being like us. There are others like you, you're not alone, feel awesome, the end.

I do that with my husband all the time, but they're always really obscure references, and some of them aren't tv/movies but just weird in-jokes or quotes from people we've met. Also, my siblings and I do this all the time as well.

I would also probably describe myself as super awkward and kind of creepy.

Yeah, for example, my husband and I like to quote this movie, Disco Godfather all the time, practically on a daily basis, to the point that nobody knows where the quotes are from and which context they're being used in.

That's pretty much how my friends and I communicate. Movie quotes, TV quotes, book quotes, game quotes, quotes from our various RPGs. You can build a whole second language.

Honestly, I'm like that too.
Always had excessive knowledge of TV/movies/commercials, anything media related. My brain just absorbed it all when I was younger. I really should go on a trivia show one day.
I haven't met too many other people who can engage me in that way.

One day my knowledge will be useful for something other than board games! -_-;

Are you me, anon? I grew up in a family that quoted movies and tv shows (both old and current) often. It was weird to adjust when being around people who don't do it.

A friend of mine does this, and I have to confess that I find it quite frustrating. I know you're intelligent enough to come up with your own things to say, so can't I talk to you occasionally, rather than to Monty Python?

I do this too. But... I've never even seen Cable Guy. Maybe I should. Expand my vocabulary some...
