I got the point... but seriously, the writing was terrible. The plotholes were massive.

I always thought Torchwood was poorly written. Always. CoE as well. If that makes me stupid, so be it.

Homophobic, no, CoE wasn't and quite a few fangirls made fools of themselves screaming about it. But Torchwood, as a whole, not just CoE, is heteronormative and it did send some fairly icky messages regarding homosexual relationships in general. To me at least.

Ianto's death in itself wasn't homophobic. But it would be nice to see a happy LGBT couple that stays together without one dying or turning evil.

I don't feel that way about TW in general, but COE was so LAME when it came to some of the gay references.

I like that in earlier series, sexual orientation isn't even a big deal but suddenly in COE it was and it annoyed the hell out of me.

TBH, I mostly ignore series three because Tosh isn't in it. With her and Owen gone and no new team members coming in I was watching it purely for Jack. While I "got it", could appreciate characters like Frobisher and Spears and could see how daring the story was etc, I have to admit as a series I didn't find it remotely enjoyable.

Except for the fact that oh yeah the writing was awful? I know loads of people who didn't like Ianto and thought that a) the massive plotholes were in fact that MASSIVE and I want to know how they got through and that b) a lot of the characters had really bad motivations for doing things which also equals bad writing.

Sure I'm pissed Ianto's dead, as much as I'm pissed Owen and Tosh died, but at least their deaths were well-written in a decent (Torchwood standards) ep.

Thank you eternalwings. The writing was completely terrible- the plot holes were so bad that if you drove over them, you'd have to get your alinement checked. I've said it before-and I'm sure that I'll say it again- Torchwood was supposed to be about catching aliens, not alienating the fan base with crap writing. The homophobia was there- several times in several ways. I'm not sure how I'm missing the point- or how it makes me stupid for thinking that CoE was a disappointment.
