She's not everyones favourite most people like Emily the most.

They made a mistake having her be the lead character. She's far too much the focus of the show now, which is what makes her unappealing, I think (besides the fact she constantly makes really bad decisions). But honestly I can't stand most of the new cast characters. Cook's my fave coz even though he's one of the most flawed, he doesn't really play games or hide his true self. The others are completely schizophrenic, it seems! :P

I think Cook is the complete opposite actually! there's only one small scene in the entire series where shows his true nature, and even then it's such complete self-pity after whole episodes of being a douchebag that I can't like him for it. he hides himself more than any other character of either gen.

You make a good point. But when I consider him next to, say, Freddie or Naomi... IDKY he just comes off as more 'real.' Actually I think I know what it is! He is up front about using the people he uses. He slags off JJ and Freddie to their faces, and he's always honest about who he wants to shag, etc. He also comes clean about his true feelings for Effy at least twice in the series (in the nightclub and in the last ep on the boat). The thing I hate about Freddie and even Naomi to a degree is that they lie lie lie to the people they supposedly "love," whom they are actually using... although I think Naomi is over doing that by the end of the season.

But you've given me something to ponder actually, so thanks...

I agree. I only put up with her character because I know that somewhere, there's a good side to her (mostly only the side she shows to Tony and nobody else, but at least it's there.) I'm annoyed that she became the main focus of the show and I didn't like the love quadrilateral that surrounded her.

I love Effy, mostly cos she is such a fuckin trainwreck (& I had loved her character in 1&2). However, I didn't like her much when she spent her time generally being emo about Funsponge or smashing people on the head with rocks. That was such a waste of such an awesome character. S3 did her a terrible disservice...

But, OP, I do think that you're confusing fandom with the characters on Skins. (Fandom loves Emily. Seems like every Skins character and their mother loves Effy).

My favourite is Naomi, and well yea, fandom favourite; Emily.

I loved Effy in season 1 and 2, now, she's okay but nothing compared to before. She's been shoved down our throats this season.
