What the heck is going on here. Did she shave her eyebrows and get tattoos? And this is a trend a lot of people followed/liked?

Pretty sure she shaved or entirely plucked her eyebrows and then drew on a design that varied slightly.

It had maybe a small niche popularity, but I don’t think I’d have called it a trend.

Decades ago my sister was really into the Dresden Dolls. I found them mostly annoying with one or two songs I liked. However I saw some video of her drawing in her eyebrows (using liquid eyeliner) and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Granted, I can't even draw a reasonable stick figure and never have been able to, but still she'd been doing it so long even at that point that she could do it free-hand in under 30 seconds a brow.

I'm very relieved if they're drawn on and not tattoos!

Not my face, but face tattoos weird me out. Even makeup tattoos like eyeliner generally are made to fade.
